Erica Tingey   Erica is head coach and founder of Women in the Mountains. She is a certified  Professional Mountain Bike Instructor (PMBIA ) in addition to being a USA cycling coach. Erica has been teaching skills clinics since 2011 and has worked with hundreds of athletes! Working with beginners to pro racers, she has been able to connect with every level of rider to help them build on their skills progression. Erica raced mountain bikes professionally from 2010 to 2017. She raced to the front of the field to secure multiple podiums on the National level over her career and raced several international World Cups on the mountain bike. She won 2 Masters National Championship titles on the road (Time Trial and Road Race). She and her husband have a 10-year old son and call Park City, Utah home. She is supported by  JAMIS bicycles  for the 7th season in a row. With a great support crew and loving family, she is able to travel around the country and the world fulfilling her dreams and sharing her passion for cycling.

Kristen Lane   Long time ski instructor. Certified Corrective Exercise Specialist & Personal Trainer. She gets stoked on helping students discover new talents and abilities. A natural teacher, Kristen takes a student-centered approach to introducing mountain biking skills with an eye towards safety and fun. She is PMBIA certified (Professional Mountain Bike Instructor).  As a coach, she takes great pride in connecting with each student in a way that helps to breakdown communication styles and any barriers that may slow the learning process. Her goal is for each student to feel that they have received personalized coaching input. Kristen Lane

Long time ski instructor. Certified Corrective Exercise Specialist & Personal Trainer. She gets stoked on helping students discover new talents and abilities. A natural teacher, Kristen takes a student-centered approach to introducing mountain biking skills with an eye towards safety and fun. She is PMBIA certified (Professional Mountain Bike Instructor).

As a coach, she takes great pride in connecting with each student in a way that helps to breakdown communication styles and any barriers that may slow the learning process. Her goal is for each student to feel that they have received personalized coaching input.

Shelly Wedge

Trained and experienced in a variety of learning environments, Shelly has contributed to a number of innovative and effective programs. Shelly's path has progressed through the classrooms of typical public schools to the special challenges of students and families serving in the armed services, and then on to special needs facilities. She is a mom (two daughters), and the wife of a U.S. Marine, now a technology executive. She has coached skiing, gymnastics, freestyle ski jumping, swimming, and currently serve as the lead coach for Basin Recreation Center’s adult and youth mountain bike programs. In addition, she leads weekly mountain bike rides for ‘At Risk’ youth for the Salt Lake City Bicycle Collective. She is PSIA PMBIA and IMBA Certified, collectively for the past 12 years. In every aspect of life, she has sought to engage and encourage people to grasp and express their gifts and talents.

Virginia Solomon   Virginia has an array of teaching skills honed in a variety of settings with students from diverse backgrounds, having coached both mountain bike and road skills (with PMBIA and  USA Cycling  Beginner Racer Program coaching certifications) and also worked as an art history professor (while also racing mountain, gravel, and road bikes). Through carefully and creatively presented lessons, Virginia guides each individual student to find their own personal zone of learning, outside of their comfort zone so they can progress but not to the point of being freaked out and unable to learn. Safe, fun, and fast are all sides of the same three sided coin!

She spent 7 years as a professional rock climber and guide then turned that passion and drive to endurance and ultra endurance events, competing in Ironman triathlons, 100 mile ultra marathons and many other endurance road and mountain bike races. Now she spends her time trying to train and race herself, raise four wild and busy kids and coach the South Summit High School Mountain Bike Team. In the winter months she is a backcountry ski guide. She has a passion for taking people out into the mountains to teach them new things and show them we are all capable of doing anything we put our minds to!
