BMX

That's right, BMX! Tommy Zula was teaching a skills clinic at the Rad Canyon BMX indoor track so I signed up! It was perfect timing since it was a snowy Saturday. This track is built in a horse arena and every few weekends throughout the winter they haul in dirt, build a track, race it for three days then haul the dirt back out. It was my first time riding BMX and it did not disappoint. Most of the 40 clinic participants were little boys under the age of 12 but there were 2 little girls and 4 other adults. The great thing about skills is that any age, level and gender can benefit from the same instruction.  Tommy reviewed pumping, jumping and manual'ing first. Then we practiced gate starts and I learned to balance  and start, that was intense and REALLY fun! Then we raced other participants our own age. I got 3rd of of 4 every time (one guy didn't race). I have SO much to learn and I can't WAIT to go back!
