Soldier Hollow

Last weekend was my first race back in the high alpine environment and I was reminded how much I LOVE to ride my bike in the mountains. I am back in the build phase of my training so I showed up to the race with my legs loaded up and the expectation to enjoy the pain!
My Jamis Dakota hardtail with Stan's NoTubes Valors is the perfect weapon for these race courses that are heavy on the climbing! I was running the Vittoria Mezcal in the front and Barzo in the rear, the perfect combo for mud, grass, rocks and blown out corners!

Photos from the weekend can be found on my Instagram and FB page.

Sea Otter 2016

My 6th Sea Otter was a success! It's been a bumpy road (hear the podcast here) and I am back to being healthy again. I was very nervous before the race and wasn't sure I even wanted to line up. However, the moment I was on the track with the other women, I KNEW I was in the right place. I belong on the start line racing with the elite women, giving it my all.  Being healthy enough to race brought me so much joy and gratitude. We raced 6 laps and I expected to get pulled after just 3 or 4 laps. I was surprised each time I road through and they didn't pull me! Finishing on the lead and final lap was more than I dared hope for.  There is so much work I still need to do to get my fitness back to where it was and I am ready to get back to it! No more travel for me for a few weeks, just hard work and recovery time!

Fattycast

The Fatcyclist (aka Fatty or Elden) has maintained one of the most read blogs in the cycling world for 11 years now. He and his wife happen to live near me and be my friends as well. His wife (aka The Hammer) came to one of my clinics a few years ago. Recently Fatty started a podcast called the FattyCast and had me on there for an interview. Take a listen and you'll learn about some things I have not shared before in public! Enjoy!

Cactus Hugger (Intermountain Cup)

I am so incredibly pleased to let you know I am solidly back to cross country racing! It has been a roller coaster for me the past 19 months with my health and family stress. I put in some really solid work this winter and I tested it out this weekend in St. George, Utah. I WON my first race back! I went into the race with no expectations, just get my legs under me. After chasing the lead for 2 laps I decided to make an attack on the 3rd lap and it worked! I was just as surprised as everyone else! Now it's time to get some more work done so I can perform at the national races. Photos from the weekend can be found on my Instagram and FB page.
