The Kühl kids represented well at Iceman again this year! Last year I met some of the Wisconsin Kühl team members at Iceman, this year they let me join them for meals and the race shuttle. Dallas, Bill & Tyler all finished within 3 minutes of each other. Dallas had dérailleur issues, so didn't repeat his top 20 finish, but he will next year! They were traveling with another couple that also raced. Denise is normally a successful endurance racer, so she was a bit shocked of the speed we started with (XC racing is a whole different animal)! Her husband Mark (who raced in the morning) was great start and finish line support for me. He let me hand him my down jacket with 1 minute to go and at the finish line gave me a hug when I was shedding my self-pity tears! This is perhaps one of the top reasons I love to race my bike, no matter where I go I find solid, kind people with similar values and drive.
