Line Choice for a Tight Switchback (tight corner)

There are many things that contribute to successfully riding a switchback. This video covers line choice. If you ride into the switchback from the middle of the trail, you may find it difficult to make it all the way around and exit safely. If you start the switchback from the outside of the trail, you may find it easier to navigate the corner and finish wide, thus, riding the switchback with success! There are times when “outside, inside, outside” makes sense, however, there are times when it makes more sense to just stay wide the entire time. Every corner is unique, so these are just generalizations for you to consider.

Keep in mind that riding berms takes a different set of skills and a different choice of line.

To dial in your switchbacks, sign up for a private session or group clinic and our coaches will get you riding every corner, switchback and berm in your area!
