Deer Valley (ICP Race # 7)

The weather held just barely long enough for us to race on Wednesday night. The sky was dark and the wind was blowing and as you can see it was raining by time the ceremony ended. This was my first time racing Pro. I was excited and super nervous, not sure if I was going to be in way over my head. But, the race went well. We started with some of the expert men so it was a little hard to tell where the other women were. I hopped on Kelsey's wheel, mainly for fun, just to get humbled, and humbled I was! For the first lap I was in second place until the last descent, when KC passed me. On lap #2 I caught back up to KC, once again to have her out descend me. My descending skills and specifically my right turn on a switchbacks are in need of improvement. In the end I was 3rd place, not to shabby for my first pro race! Plus I get to win cold hard cash now, $20 (not enough to cover my entrance fee, but still exciting).

Finish Line
