Intermountain Cup at Solitude

My number plate says it all. My head was not in the race for even a minute. I hadn't ridden or eaten much for a couple of days. I left for the race without my bike. Once I had my bike, I realized I didn't have my race wheels on but I was so short on time it wasn't worth switching. I registered and had just a few minutes to warm up. There were only 3 of us, so I knew I could get 3rd as long as I pedaled for 3 laps. And that is all I did. My goal was to not get caught by the expert women, I succeeded in that, so, goal fulfilled. It took everything I had to make myself go out for all 3 laps. Like I said, head not in the game. Number plate 666. People cheering for me to "ride like hell" and "go she-devil". I just laughed and rolled and finished...way off the back.
